The coffee has joined the list of unusual foods with health benefits just like the wine, chocolate and popcorns. According to the 13 years study by the National Cancer Institute of USA, was concluded that people who frequently drink coffee have 16% lower risk of early death.

Here are 10 situations where coffee can help – but if the cream and sugar are reduced.

1. Prevention of gallstones In a research conducted by Harvard in 2002, was found that women who drank at least 4 (four) cups of coffee a day have 25% reduced risk for gallstones. A former research has shown similar results with men.

2. Prevention of depression Women who drink two (2) or three (3) cups of coffee a day have 15% less chances to have depression, while those who drank four (4) cups of coffee a day, are reducing the chances to 20%.

3. Memory improvement Coffee helps with long-term and short-term memory. Interestingly, a study in 2007 showed that women (but not men) with the –age of 65 and older, who drank more than three (3) cups of coffee a day, had better results on memory tests than those who drank only one (1) cup of coffee per day.

4. Reduced risk of diabetes The studies have shown that people who drink more coffee have smaller chances for diabetes type 2.

5. Reduced risk for cancer The consummation of coffee is linked with the reduced risk of breast cancer, prostate cancer and liver cancer. A study done in Sweden in 2008, shows that drinking at least two (2) to three (3) cups of coffee daily reduces the risk or delays the start of breast cancer. Women aren’t the only one who has benefits of the coffee. A recent study conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health has shown that drinking coffee (and usually caffeine free) results in a reduced risk of prostate cancer.

6. Improving the metabolism Coffee might help you to maintain your weight or even lose weight. A study from 1980 had shown that caffeine in the coffee stimulates the metabolism.

7. Reduced risk for Parkinson’s disease A study from 2010 had shown that drinking two (2) to three (3) cups of coffee a day provides 25% lower risk for having the Parkinson’s disease.

8. Antioxidant features A researcher from Harvard Edward Giovannucci concluded that the coffee has more antioxidants than most of the fruits and vegetables. A study from 2005 has shown that the coffee is a source of antioxidants number one in the American diet.

9. Benefits Several studies have proven that coffee and the caffeine in it increases the endurance and short-term performances. It can also help athletes to get better results in training if it is taken one hour before workout.

10. Prevention of wrists pain A study in 2007 on 40 years old people has shown that a long-term consumption coffee can reduce the risk wrists pain.
