HEALTH: You should know this! The ugly Truth about Plastic Bottles!

A lot of plastic bottles and cups are used all over the world. This material is the most consumed all over the world. A lot of recent studies and researches have shown that this material, the plastic, is very bad for our health, and we are not even aware.

People believed that bottled water is much healthier than the tap water because of the vitamins. But the truth is that the water in the bottles is just a tap water. Don’t buy another bottle before looking at the bottom of the bottle and search for a symbol. That symbol is a triangle with a number from 1 to 7. In the text below, you can read whether the bottle in your hands is safe or not.

• Triangle with number 1, known as PETE or PET

The bottle with this number should be used once. If they are reused, you are exposed to a substance – EPA. There are good chances this bottle to be carcinogenic and to contain a very heavy metal called antimony which can interfere with your hormones.

• Triangle with number 2, known as HDP or HDPE

This is considered to be a good plastic. When is in contact with water, It doesn’t contain chemicals as the other bottles.

• Triangle with number 3, known as PVC or V

This number in the bottle means that is has 2 chemicals that can harm the hormones in our organism. For our back luck, this type of bottle is the most used one.

• Triangle with number 4, known as LDPE

This is safe bottle because it doesn’t t emit chemicals. It is very likely that chemicals are present in the plastic bags.

• Triangle with number 5, known as PP

This is a very good type of bottle. These types are used for syrup bottles and cups of yogurt. They are white in color.

• Triangle with number 6

Used in coffee cups and fast food packaging, this plastic is carcinogenic! They emit STIREN.

• Number 7 is without labels, known as PC

You shouldn’t trust plastic bottles without labels because they often contain a very harmful chemical known as BPA. It is sad, but true that these types of plastics are used for infant bottles, food containers and sports drink bottles.

So, to sum up, you shouldn’t worry if your bottle is marked with 2, 4 and 5. But, you are exposing to a very dangerous chemicals if the bottle is marked with a triangle containing the number 1, 3, 6 or 7.
